THE RED DRAGON CONTROL TOWER

VESTAX • FORMULA SOUND • CHARLIE DESTRUCTOR

The Red Dragon Hi Frequency Dub Sound System is independently developed around a dedicated analogue control chain.

At its heart are the Vestax PMC-46 MKII, Formula Sound FSM-600 and Charlie Destructor custom preamplifier.

Together, these form the main vinyl-mixing, signal-control and frequency-management chain for Red Dragon’s four-way reggae and dub sound system.

Designed for vinyl-led performances, powerful bass reproduction and independent creative control.

THE RED DRAGON: HERITAGE, RESISTANCE AND HISTORICAL MEMORY

Red Dragon Hi Frequency Dub Sound System takes its identity from the ancient British red dragon tradition, rather than from modern religious or demonic interpretations.

In the historical legend associated with Vortigern and Merlin, the red dragon represents the native Britons, while the white dragon represents the Saxons. Their struggle became a powerful symbol of the land, its people, resistance to conquest, and the survival of cultural identity.

For Red Dragon, this symbolism honours the ancestral peoples of Britain and the importance of understanding the history of the land before and after successive migrations, conquests and political transformations.

It is also a statement about historical memory: the need to examine whose histories have been preserved, whose experiences have been overlooked, and how records, archaeology and inherited narratives influence our understanding of the past.

This independent historical interest connects directly with the published research of Winston Rhynie and the cultural mission behind Red Dragon Hi Frequency Dub Sound System.

The music carries the message. The books investigate the history. Together they form an independent platform for knowledge, cultural expression and historical inquiry.

In The Original People of the British Isles, Winston Rhynie investigates questions surrounding Britain's early populations, changing demographics, historical identity and the interpretation of its past. Through an independent examination of historical narratives and evidence, the book challenges readers to consider how the history of the British Isles has been recorded, presented and understood. This publication forms part of the wider connection between historical research, cultural consciousness and the Red Dragon project.
